A canção foi composta no ano 1974, e gravada no álbum "Toquinho & Vinícius" pelo próprio autor. Inclusive, Toquinho, um dos compositores, explicou que a melodia chegou, mas não tinha a letra para seu filho, quando decidiu perguntar a Vinícius de Moraes se ele tinha algo pronto.
Vinícius, com a tranquilidade de sempre, falou que não, naquele momento, mas que ele iria pensar em alguma coisa.
Toquinho decidiu passear um pouco e, quando retornou, a letra já estava pronta.
Segundo o próprio Toquinho, quando ambos encaixaram a letra e a melodia, as emoções tomaram conta de modo que chorar era algo inevitável. Ele havia percebido que "o poetinha", como era carinhosamente chamado Vinícius, havia falado também muito de si naquela letra.
Bem, cá pra nós, se cada vez que as pessoas pensassem "um pouquinho" surgisse uma obra dessas, o mundo seria outro, bem mais belo.
O REFRÃO

The song was composed in 1974 and recorded on the album "Toquinho & Vinícius" by the author himself. In fact, Toquinho, one of the composers, explained that the melody had arrived, but he didn't have the lyrics to dedicate to his son, which is when he decided to ask Vinícius de Moraes if he had anything ready.
Vinícius, with his usual calmness, said no, not at that moment, but that he would think of something.
